I went to OpenBadges and created a digital badge. I selected the shape of the badge, inner shape, added an icon, skipped the banners and straight text and added a curved text. I decided on my color palette. I can see having students to make their own badges for an activity, an achievement badge that they create, vote on their favorite and then I would use that throughout the year as an award to pass out to students who reached that achievement. I believe this would create additional buy-in to whatever achievement we were creating the badge to cover. I think this is a fun way to get your students involved in an activity by linking it to a digital art project. This could also be used as a short storytelling medium, much like a meme.
